❓ Frequently Asked Questions
How do I use SwapText?
▼
Simply type your shortcut word in any text field and press the SPACE key. For example, if you created a shortcut "myemail" that expands to "john@example.com", just type "myemail" and hit space - it will instantly be replaced with your full email address.
Why isn't my shortcut working?
▼
Make sure you: (1) Press SPACE after typing the shortcut, (2) The shortcut is spelled exactly as you saved it, (3) You're typing in a text input field or textarea, (4) Try refreshing the page. Some websites load text fields dynamically.
Do my shortcuts sync across devices?
▼
Yes! SwapText uses Chrome's built-in sync feature. As long as you're signed into Chrome with the same Google account on multiple computers, your shortcuts will automatically sync.
Is my data private and secure?
▼
Absolutely. Your shortcuts are stored locally in your browser and optionally synced via Chrome Sync (controlled by Google). We never transmit your keystrokes or shortcuts to our servers. We don't track what you type.
What's the difference between Free and Pro?
▼
The Free plan allows you to create up to 3 shortcuts - perfect for trying out the extension. Pro gives you unlimited shortcuts, plus priority support. You can start with a 7-day free trial of Pro, no credit card required.
How do I cancel my subscription?
▼
Click the SwapText icon, then click "Manage" in the footer. This will open your subscription management page where you can cancel anytime. Your Pro features will remain active until the end of your billing period.
I paid but still showing as Free user?
▼
Try these steps: (1) Click the SwapText icon and click "Login" in the footer, (2) Enter the email you used to purchase, (3) Check your email for a login link. If issues persist, contact us at info@skytechhongkong.com.
Does it work on all websites?
▼
SwapText works on most websites with standard text input fields and textareas. Some websites with heavily customized editors (like Google Docs) may have limited support. It works great on Gmail, social media, forms, and most web applications.
